I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book. Nikki Wild did a fabulous job writing this story of Danielle and Shane. It is well written loved all the characters in this story. I couldn't stop so I just kept you reading. There are secrets, betrayal, mystery and some really hot sex scenes. Shane and Danielle have chemistry that is off the charts.Danielle Kane had a relationship with Scott Turner (aka Shane) when she was in college. They were together for 3mos when he suddenly up and left with not so much as goodbye just a broken heart. Danielle is working as a Marketing Manager at a Hotel in Hawaii. Her boss and one of her best friends Paolos have a meeting about the hotel being sold to Tanner International. Danielle looked them up Tanner International on her computer and to her astonishment and shock at what she seeing in the photo is none other then her old flame Scott Turner (the gorgeous ba$tard who ran out on her back when she was in college) but Shane Tanner that wasn't his name when she knew him. Will these two get their second chance or will it all blow up and leave someone with a broken heart once again. At times, the environmental story line dominates the romance, but I think that’s on purpose. It certainly is a huge part of the story. The environmental story line under the romance didn’t catch my interest, but that’s just personal taste, not the writing or anything. The story is pretty hot and sexy but there’s also a sweet romance as well. Shane is the bad boy billionaire playboy who has a reputation of jumping anything that moves, and he really Danielle wrong back in college. But you can see that he really does love her and care about her.
The epilogue is really very cute and it’s nice to see how things play out in the future. I received and voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the best novel I have read in a long while.... I got an advance copy in exchange for a fair review. This story is about how love conquers all. Separated while they were in college by his controlling father, Shane and Dani get together again when Shane's father takes over the hotel where Dani is working. The first time the two are in the same room they recognize that this is a reunion, but not necessarily one that Dani wants. But Shane proves to be quite adept at pursuing his love. How they get together, the way they are pulled apart and the reunion are all parts of the novel that you need to read the book to understand.
This book is fast paced, and almost a little too fast paced, but that is my only criticism. I strongly recommend this book for an excellent romantic adventure.
What happens when your past love comes back into your life ? Do you trust him, especially when he lied to you and left you ? Danielle is a strong independent woman. Shane is a billionaire who loved her, lied to her and left her. His proposal leaves you wondering about his motives.
Nikki Wild has crafted a sublime balance of excitement and tension while allowing Shane and Danielle's story to capture my attention. The past rushes into the present and as you step into each POV, you discover that not everything is as it seems to be. That said, the conflicts did not feel contrived. I liked discovering the back story with both Shane and Danielle and absolutely loved Margie, she reminds me so much of one of my great aunts !
Sexual content tantalizes and is not full out hard core.
Danielle and Shane's story comes full circle with the beginning and the final chapter with a nice HEA. I really enjoyed this book !
A very sweet romance story about second chances. It's a bit different from other second Chance books. This is a very sweet and clean romance which makes it easy for most romance readers to like. If you have read any of the other books by Nikki, then you know she has a way of writing that makes each story very different and unique. As in her other books she writes, each book has a very easy flow that makes it a quick read. Not to mention she develops characters that are easy to fall in love with. They always have great chemistry with sweet personalities. This story has humor with some smart sarcasm which makes it so entertaining and very enjoyable. Its definitely worth reading. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.
