Britifh commerce, which, ever lince its exiftence, has been held in deteflation by all good men, but at this time more particularly engages the attention of the nation, and is become the objefl of general reprobation. Leaving to abler pens to expatiate more at large on the injuftice and inhumanity of theS lave Trade, I lliall content myfelf with giving fome account of the hardfhips which the unhappy obje6ts of it undergo, and the cruelties they fuffer, from the period of their being reduced to a ftate of flavery, to their being difpofed of in theW eft India iflands; where, I fear, their grievances find little alleviation. At the fame time, I iliall treat of a fubjedt, which appears not to have been attended to in the manner its importance requires jthat is, the fufferings and lofs of the feamen employed in this trade ;which, from the intemperature of the climate, the inconveniencies they labour under during the voyage, and the feverity of moft of the commanders, occafion the deftruction of great numbers annually. And this I fhall endeavour to do by the recital of a number of fa6ls which have fallen under my own immediate obfervation, or the knowledge of which I have obtained from perfons on whofe veracity I can depend.

An Account of the Slave Trade on the Coast of Africa Vol 1 Classic Reprint Alexander Falconbridge Books
an eye witness of the african slave trade...written in 1788 by a slave ships surgeon...a must read for all those blacks boasting about african kings and tending to bask in their glory, even hoping perhaps to emulate them......im reading this now...i must put it down at times because the behavior of african kings and black slave traders is so barbaric and repugnant to their fellow countrymen, women and children....blacks were made slaves FIRST in africa, by the kings they revere and adore so much today. i have often wondered why it was so easy then and NOW for others to exploit the resources of africa, yes, africans considered their fellow africans as only another resource with which to make money.....the answer i believe lies within this detailed account ..... it is the same exploitation happening today....only the resource being exploited has changed.Product details
